PPG Wave Collection for Korg Multi/Poly | 52 Performances including Wavetables

Welcome to this video from The Digital Lifestyle! In this video, I'm showcasing my new sound collection for the Korg Multi/Poly—The PPG Collection.

This set features 52 performances and programs inspired by the legendary PPG Wave, a wavetabled synth from the early '80s. I've meticulously recreated the sounds using the original PPG wave tables, which are freely available online but have been cleaned up, labeled, and organized for easy use.

The collection includes both a free, cut-down set and a full version for more versatility. The PPG Wave uses wave tables with analog filters, offering digital sounds with that classic analog warmth. I demonstrate various ways I've shaped these sounds, including smooth and harsh transitions, and how the 8-bit mode adds a vintage feel to the tones. Throughout the video, you'll hear examples of: Bass sounds with digital clarity and deep analog undertones. Vocal and bell tones enhanced by 8-bit processing for that early '80s digital vibe. Lead sounds, pads, and sequence-driven effects, perfect for cinematic or ambient use. A variety of dynamic performance layers, from electric pianos to ensemble strings and drum kits, all customizable to your taste.

You'll also see how I use modulation and wave table positioning to create evolving textures and interesting sonic shifts—using both the Multi/Poly’s powerful modulation capabilities and the vintage qualities of these wave tables.

The set includes both individual programs and performances, plus the wave tables themselves, all neatly organized and ready for you to explore and integrate into your own projects.
